    Alert Level 2 Information

    The Queenstown and Wanaka Transfer Stations will reopen fully including on weekends, however access to the Transfer Stations will continue via the online booking system.

    • To operate under the best practice guidelines for appropriate social distancing and contact tracing, you will need a booking to access the Transfer Stations
    • If you do not have a booking, you will not be able to access the facility. Or if you fail to arrive within your allotted time, you may be turned away
    • The vehicle registration you book with is the vehicle that you must bring to the facility, this is stipulated for contact tracing purposes
    • The name and phone number you register with is the person who will be visiting the facility, this is stipulated for contact tracing purposes
    • Please endeavour to come alone at your allotted time. If you must bring others (including children) with you, they must remain in the vehicle at all times
    • All interactions at the Transfer Stations must be contactless, so payment is by account or paywave only. Payment must be made at the time. No cash or non-contactless card payment options will be available
    • To keep yourself and the staff onsite safe, please follow staff instructions at all times. This includes adhering to all existing site safety requirements and signage such as the posted 10kph speed limit
    • There will be restrictions in place to maintain social distancing, including limiting areas of access
    • Areas for diversion of items such as green waste, scrap metal, e-waste and hazardous goods will be accessible during Alert Level 2
    • To maintain social distancing protocols, you must be able to safely unload your materials into the pit without assistance from others onsite
    • Frankton Recycling Centre (Materials Recovery Facility), including community drop off area, remains closed while some urgent repairs are undertaken ahead of reopening. It is anticipated this facility will reopen 1 June.  Refer to Council website for more information on the reopening of this facility
